About

The Plane Game is a competitive arcade shooter with a changing name, unique art style and game feel! Compete with your friends for a spot on the top 10 high score leader board!

I made this in 14 weeks for my final university assignment. Originally planned to have rouge-like elements, but due to time constraints it became an arcade shooter. Because I was in a solo group (as a programmer) I had to get creative with the art. Currently there’s an outline and CRT monitor shader., and a custom built particle system.

Something interesting is the way i draw planes. There not 3D, I made two sprites that warp to give the illusion that it’s 3D.

PROTOTYPES

Been working on some lighting shaders. Might make a tutorial if anyone is interested!😶 #gamemaker #gamedev #indidev pic.twitter.com/a8pFY6NHry

Lighting and weather system for a rouge like I’m working on.

Ya'll want a grass simulator? 10,000 blades of grass, all with depth, 60fps #gamemaker #gamedev pic.twitter.com/XWzqN5CLXd

This was an original prototype for the plane game, a multiplayer dog fighting game.

Still going with the room editor! I can now make 'chunks' that will generate differently depending what chunk is selected. Still lots to do though!#gamemaker2 #gamedev #pixelart pic.twitter.com/gTd9H8r38w

A top down proof of concept. Trees are draw in a way tat give the game depth. Has a working mini map and inventory.

I've been working on this for last few days, finally merging all my small projects together! The inventory is all working using nested ds_map's, the room gen based on tile maps is half done, and have to the proper camera, grass sway and firefly back in! hyped! #gamemaker #gamedev pic.twitter.com/WoS8LCEHaE

Messing around with making satisfying and responsive UI

It needs some tweaking and optimisation, BUT, its looks kinda cool! #GameMaker #aseprite #gamedev pic.twitter.com/ap8cYA01kP

Shader for rocks I made that game the rock shape and depth

Been working on a new way to cast spells or do special attacks using a controller in a project i"m working on! definitely needs work, but its not bad for the first iteration! #gamedev #GameMakerStudio2 #IndieGameDev pic.twitter.com/VRR9MYNj82

This is a function i made that records the player inputs and movements. You can then compare them to pre-set patterns. This was going to be used for a spell based game where you draw your own spells.

Check out my JIF of a game i'm making with @plebnutt for Uni #gamemaker #aseprite #indidev pic.twitter.com/lUfzfCxbo8
